[Top 5 (Plus 5)] Favorite Games of the Decade [2010-2019]

2016 // Titanfall 2

I never played the original Titanfall. As I said, I didn’t get a next-gen console until 2015 – and it wasn’t an X1, so I missed out. It also never interested me much as it was a multiplayer-centric shooter without much in the way of a campaign for a solo player like me.

Even still – giant robots are my jam, so I picked up Titanfall 2 as fast as I could.

This is a game that got done extremely dirty. It’s by far one of the best shooters I’ve ever played – period. Yet it got released right alongside EA’s own Battlefield 1 and Activision’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

That was a death sentence, and is pretty much the only reason this game didn’t succeed.

The gameplay is exquisite. The visuals are gorgeous, and the story – while a bit generic – is highly entertaining. The setpieces are great, and the campaign adds new mechanics all the time that never overstay their welcome. Usually only lasting for the single mission it’s introduced and then going away.

“Press L1 To Time Travel” is and will always be one of my favorite game prompts.

On To 2017!
