#1 Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Why Was It Chosen?
Come on now. Is this even a surprise to anyone reading this? Honestly?
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is, without a doubt, the best game I’ve played this year. Even with the issues it has – the missing mission, the weak story – the game is just a blast to play. I hate the fiasco that’s been happening with Konami as of late. I hate seeing what was one of my all time favorite gaming companies (Castlevania, Contra, Gradius – so many great games) go through such a terrible change in presence. I hate seeing my all time favorite game creator get the shaft the way he has. But MGSV is still an amazing game.
MGSV is the most fun I had all year. It’s the game that has lasted me the longest of everything I’ve played so far (Though Fallout 4 may take that crown soon enough). It’s the game that I’ve just enjoyed the absolute most the entire year.
I really can’t condense my thoughts on it in to a few short paragraphs, so check out the review here on the site to get my full thoughts on it.
It is certainly deserving of all of the praise it has received, and certainly deserves to be anyone’s Game of the Year.
